I love a girl and-a Rubyy is her name
Rubyy Blood Orange energy drink

Here is a type of drink I don’t often get a chance to try. There are several upscale premium energy drinks out there and most of them are only available is trendy clubs and other upscale places. Not really the kinds of places I frequent. Why should I miss out on these? Are they all hype? I was thrilled to get my hands on Rubyy Blood Orange energy drink. Let’s see what it’s all about
Packaging: First off Rubyy comes in one of the best looking aluminum bottles I have yet to see. This bottle beats the Venom bottles hands down. Rubyy comes in a sleek bullet shaped aluminum bottle. The bottle is a heavy aluminum and when chilled really stays cold a long time. The entire bottle is a satin black. On the front is a cool image of a winged woman, some vines, a dragon and some oranges. Really that is not a fair description andyou have to see it. The graphic looks to be a pale grey color and it glows very nicely under a black light(I’ll try to get a photo of that). There is a cream colored rectangle in the bottom middle with the name “Rubyy” and the phrase Blood Orange energy printed in it. At the bottom it reads “Lightly carbonated energy drink” in a small orange font. The back has nutrition facts. I have to say this is one classy amazing package that anyone what feel comfortable holding at a trendy club or event. For that matter it would look cool anywhere. Grade A+ for packaging. Check out the black light photo on the right!
Slogans: “Rubyy, On All Day and Up All night” is right there on the side of the bottle. I’m glad they put some thought into it and it fits the drink image to a T. Grade A- for slogan.
Taste ect: I twist off the top and there is a wisp of water vapor appears due to the coldness of the drink hitting the air. I sniff and it smells like a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a pink grape fruit color which is what Blood Orange juice looks like. It has a light to medium carbonation. I take a sip and it taste like a rich blood orange juice and then a slight hint of tangerine at the finish. Blood oranges are sweet and less acidic than most orange varieties and this drink has that same quality. It’s a smooth flavor and taste like carbonated juice and not like orange soda or candy at all. There is no after taste and the carbonation really is spot on and makes this one of the best tasting drinks I have had in a long time. Another time I tried Rubyy mixed with some chilled quality vodka and it really made an awesome drink. I made it in a martini style glass and it really looked great as well. Grade A for taste!
Kick/Ingredients: I drank it as slow as I could to savor the taste but still it was gone before I knew it. Within 10 or 15 minutes my energy started ramping up and rose to a level much higher than I expected. I was filled with smooth energy and was in a great mood. I became very talkative and sought out others so I could have conversations. I had no jitters. As it wore of about 4 hours later I had little to no crash. Rubyy energy ingredients include Taurine, Caffeine, Maltodextrin, Inositol, Guarana, and a good dose of B vitamins. Then you have 8% juice from Orange juice, Blood orange juice, and tangerine juice. It comes in at a light 130 calories, 31 grams of carbs, and 29 grams of sugar. Grade B+ for kick/ingredients. Really good buzz, not too much sugar, juice, and maltodextrin provide for a quality drink.
Web presence: Ok Rubyy has a super classy flash site at rubyy.com. There is information about the concept, the bottle, a news section, a where to find it section, and a link to buy some online. It’s kind of a mysterious site and does not have a lot of information but I think that fits with the whole image of the drink. I give them a grade of B for web presence. Although there is a lack of ingredients info I understand the image of the drink and the site fits it well.
Recap:
Wow I would love to see this drink available more places. It really tastes great and I think it would appeal to people looking for a more upscale drink. It looks awesome, taste extremely good, and has a good kick without loading you up with calories and sugar. It makes one of the better mixers I have tried as well. I want some more! Really if you find this you need to try it. Really you do. I’m not kidding.
