Shock Triple Latte

Ok in the past I had reviewed the Triple Mocha from Shock coffee and it was great. Just the other day I noticed they had come out with their RTD coffees in a 15 oz can. Wow I knew I had to try that so I managed to get my hands on the Triple Latte in the new larger can.

Packaging:  Ok so we start out with a 15 oz can. They have redesigned the labels for shock coffee drinks. This can has a milky latte colored label. There is a lighter colored band around the top that has the phrase” Iced Coffee” printed in it several times. In the middle is the shock logo with its lightning bolt striking a cup of coffee.  The logo itself is kind of splashing into the latte label with a ripple effect. At the bottom it reads “Triple Latte Energy Blend” in a nice brown font. Back has nutrition facts. I’ll give this can a grade of B-     I like the can design and the logo but I really liked the original label better. This label has a less edgy look to it than the original.

Slogan:  Nothing on the can but they do have the awesome slogan that reads” Sleep Is Overrated” on their website and t shirts. This is one of the best out there and speaks to the caffeine junky in us all. Grade A for slogan

Taste: I pop the top and I am greeted with a nice coffee and cream scent. I pour some in a glass and it comes out a light tan color with no carbonation. I take a sip and is a nice smooth milky flavor with some non bitter coffee mixed in. The creamy milk flavor dominates it over all with the coffee staying in the background and a mid level of sweetness. The consistency though is not overly thick like with some drinks I have tried. This is a nice straight up sweetened iced Latte in a can. It is very simple and very tasty. Grade  B for taste

Kick/ingredients.  I tell you what. I drank the entire 15 oz can and that may be more than some of you can handle. I was jacked up a good 5 hours and I do mean jacked up. Towards the end of the 5 hours my energy faded smoothly with no crash. While I was buzzing I did a bunch of different things and I did them all quickly. If you drink this can be prepared to do something because sitting around watching TV is not something you will be able to do. So while this is not an “Energy Drink” it is very strong. It basically has the same formulation as the smaller 8 oz can only your getting more of it. So the small can has 3 shots of espresso. That to me means this one has close to 6 shots of espresso. To top that off there is added caffeine. I would say you are getting at least 400 to 500 mg of caffeine in this 15 oz can. There is no Taurine or other energy stuff just espresso coffee and caffeine. You do get 280 calories, 7 grams of fat, 53 grams of carbs, and 44 grams of sugar. Grade A for kick/ingredients coffee, milk, and caffeine to the max.

Web presence:  Not only did they update the can and the drink but they threw down with a nice site upgrade. shockcoffee.com is very cool with the front page looking like a coffee shop. It even has a little flat screen tv playing up on the wall of the shop.  The navigation is fun with different item in the coffee shop you can click on and there is a ton of information there. I could go on but hey you need to just check it out as it is one of the coolest front pages I have seen lately. Grade B+ for web presence
Recap:

Wow hands down this is the strongest coffee drink I have tried. I suggest you maybe just drink half a can at a time if you can’t handle a crap load of caffeine though. It does come in an 8 oz can as well. If you’re worried about all the classic energy drink ingredients yet still want to get jacked up massively then this is the drink for you. It comes in Triple mocha as well.
