Drinking black coffee, staring at the wall!
Slap Black(Energy+Coffee)
Ok so I have really enjoyed Slap drinks so far. How will Slap do coffee though? Will they stumble with an over creamy concoction or fail with a weak coffee taste? I have high hopes since Slap Energy make unique drinks.
Packaging: You have your typical 16 oz aluminum can. The can has a printed label that is a swirl of brown and Black for this coffee drink. At the top you have “Energy 9.0 + Coffee” along with “Multi-stage energy supplement” in a white font. As usual you have the Slap dude logo in the middle in a white and Black format this time. At the bottom is “Energy + Coffee” in a white font and “Black” in a wicked cool font that is black with a white outline”. Back has Supplement facts along with a paragraph about the drink. B+ for packaging. I really like the swirl pattern for the coffee and as always love the Slap dude.
Slogan: Still have the slogan “Energy 9.0 + Coffee”. Nothing new but it sets Slap apart from the rest. I will give them a grade of C for slogan.
Taste: Ok so popping the top I get the scent of coffee that is fairly strong. Pouring some in a glass it comes out black with a medium level of carbonation. I take a sip and I am blown away. This is sweetened black coffee straight up. But wait. It is carbonated coffee. It is hard to imagine but this is exactly sweetened black carbonated coffee. Nothing else but that. It’s like if you took an iced sweetened coffee and added carbonation. This is totally unique and I am impressed. It is not the best drink I have ever had but it is pretty cool and I enjoy it. Better than Coke BLAK by far. They stick to the coffee flavor with no added cola taste. I give it a grade of B-. I like my coffee black with cream. If you like sweet black coffee though you will love this.
Kick/Ingredients: Ok so I drank this and enjoyed it. I got a super good buzz that had me going strong for a good 4 hours. It is truly coffee + and the buzz lasted a lot longer than coffee alone. The energy 9.0 ingredients are Isomaltulose, Guarana, Taurine, Caffeine(I think about 200mg), B6, and B12, and Maltodextrin. The Isomaltulose is a unique sweetener with a low glycemic response that is slowly digested for prolonged energy with no crash. There are 240 calories. 54 grams of carbs, and 52 grams of sugars. I give them a grade of B- for kick/ingredients
Web Presence: As usual the website at slapdrinks.com is easy to navigate and has easy to find info like product info, energy 9.0 info, Team Slap, events, and locations where you can buy Slap drinks. They also have a Myspace that is up-to-date and good as well. Not the most awesome site I have ever seen or anything but still pretty good. B- for the web presence.

I will tell you this is one of the most unique drinks I have ever tried. Carbonated coffee straight up. I was blown away and really you have to try this. It is so unique I just keep telling everyone I know about it. Coffee drinkers this is the energy drink you have been wanting. If you don’t like coffee skip it but if you like coffee you owe it to yourself to try this drink. At least buy one just so you can experience it.
