So when you’re waiting for the next attack
you’d better stand there’s no turning back

Troop Fuel

It has taken some work but I finally have gotten my hands on some Troop Fuel. It’s one of those drinks I just had to have. There were no reviews of it online so that is always a big motivator to me. Let us see if it was worth the effort.

Packaging: Troop Fuel comes in a 12oz slim aluminum can. The can is covered with a nice printed on camo pattern (no shrinkwrap). The camo is your typical greens and some blacks with your not so typical silver mixed in. At the top Is the name “TroopFuel” in a red font followed by a red line and a unique white and Red Cross. Further down towards the bottom is a listing of all the key ingredients in a red font as well. Back has nutrition fact. Overall this is a pretty nice package. They went with nicer printing for the label instead of shrinkwrap which just makes for a more professional look. The camo is nice and the fonts used work well with the product name. The ingredients right on the front is nice. Grade B for packaging

Slogan: “Health + Energy” is one I found along with “Green Side Up” I believe this has something to do with skydiving but I might be wrong. The health + energy works ok and the other is unique but a lot of people probably won’t get it. Grade C for slogan

Taste: Well I really had no clue so I expected RB clone. I popped the top and I got a scent of strawberry and a little energy drink. I pour some in a glass and it comes out a golden colored liquid with a high carbonation. I take a sip and I get a nice sweet strawberry flavor with just a hint of your typical energy drink flavor. There is no aftertaste at all. The level of sweetness is not very high and the carbonation level really works well with the flavor. It is very strawberry soda like but less sweet. Really they deliver on their promise of better taste.  Grade B for taste

Kick/Ingredients: I tried Troop Fuel on several occasions and each time it performed well above average. It delivered an above par buzz that lasted me a good 4 hours with no crash. It came in handy both at home and at work helping me get my work done easily and with good focus. Troop Fuel touts health and energy and delivers it with Coenzyme Q10, Milk Thistle, Folic Acid, 100% dv of Vitamin C, and a good dose of B vitamins on top of the usual Caffeine, Taurine, and Glucuronolactone. There are 160 calories and 39 grams of sugar. I will give them a grade of B for kick/ingredients. They are not shooting for intense over the top energy here and I think they nail the midrange boost pretty well and they have some good antioxidants as well.

Web Presence: Troopfuel.com is the official website and it is not too shabby. This is a small company so don’t expect a site like Rockstar or Monster. You do get Product info, a store, a gallery, and contact info. It’s small and easy to navigate. There is also a Myspace for Troop Fuel. I will give them a grade of C for web presence. Could use a little polish but it is not bad for a small company

Recap:

Troop Fuel is a new product and it seems to have a lot going for it. The flavor is very good and the kick and ingredients are above par. You really need to give this stuff a try if you’re looking for a great tasting energy drink with a good mid level healthy buzz.
