I was born under a bad sign

Venom Death Killer Taipan Mango

This is the second of the new flavors from Venom. The last one which was a fruit punch was very tasty and has got me excited to try this mango flavor. After the initial lame flavoring of the original 2 Venom drinks it seems that they might be on the right track.

Packaging: Nothing new here but why mess with perfection? Venom Killer Taipan comes at you in Venoms 16.9 oz resealable aluminum bottle. The bottle is a golden orange yellow color around the top with most of the rest of the bottle is black with a scaly snake pattern including a huge snake eye the same color as the upper portion of the bottle. It is very evil looking. At the top of the bottle is the name “Killer Taipan” in a silver font. Towards the bottom below the snake eye is the name “Venom” in an evil white and orange/yellow font with a bit of the color dripping off of the bottom of the V. Below that it reads “Energy + Mango”. Back has supplement facts.  You have to love this package. Grade A++

Slogan: “Piercing Energy That Strikes Back” is no longer on the bottle but it is still on the website and is still a very nice drink specific slogan. I did notice that on the lid it reads “Piercing energy + Mango”. Grade B +

Taste: The scent when I open the lid is pure mango and I get none of the usual classic energy drink smell at all. I pour some in a glass and it is a nice translucent golden yellow color. It is very unique looking with heavy carbonation. I take a drink in it is a really nice mango flavor with a high level of sweetness. This is not even close to a mango juice flavor. The best way I can describe it is that if Jolly Rancher candy came in a Mongo flavor this is what it would taste like. Pure mango candy. This is not thirst quenching and leaves me a bit thirsty but really it is pretty good.  Grade B for taste

Kick/Ingredients: Like all the other Venom drinks Killer Taipan provided me with the kick you expect. Take your typical 8 oz energy drink and double it. Sure the bottle reads 2 servings but hey where is the fun in that. This was a very drinkable drink and was gone in a flash. I drank it with my lunch and actually got more done after lunch than before since I had a pretty good buzz going No it was not smooth. It was jittery energy and I had some physical work I needed to get done and it was no problem with this buzz. I was energized and excited and stayed that way a good 4 hourrs with mid level crash at the end. The energy ingredient are the same as all the other Venom drinks with 160 mg caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronolactone,L-Carnitine , maltodextrin, and 100% of most of your B vitamins. There are 240 calories, 58 grams of carbs, and 56 grams of sugars. It is sweetened with sugar and Glucose. Not a bad line up but nothing new and in the end it is just a tad above other 16 oz energy drinks. C+ for kick/ingredients

Web Presence: They finally have a website up for Venom but this new drink is not there yet. Still it is very cool looking with the same Venom snake theme and awesome looking glowing bottles. There is pretty much no content. Just the same supplement facts label as on the bottle. Grade C- for web presence

Recap:

They should have released these new flavors first or at least at the same time as the original Venom drinks. This is a much more inspired flavor that is unique in a lot of ways. You are going to get a decent buzz and a sweet candy mango taste. Of course you can also enjoy the looks you will get when people see the awesome bottle. I enjoyed this drink and my only recommendation is that you might want to have some water handy since it is going to leave you thirsty. Grab a bottle and I think you will like it.
