I have to feel vital
Vital Energy Tangerine

Ok so there are only a few of these type drinks out there. I consider this an energy water. It is in the class with Hydrive, Vitamin water, and a few lesser known brands. I like these types of drinks because they are great to drink on a hot day and are very thirst quenching. Will Vital raise the bar though? Will it provide kick and taste? This is produced by a company just started up by a group of young guys.
Packaging: Comes in a 20 oz plastic bottle that is very similar to Vitamin water. The bottle is resealable. The label on the bottle has a nice graphic on it of a flowing orange against a dark background and the name has a little water drop dotting the letter I which is a nice touch. I’m not sure I like the background color though and think a lighter background would look better. Maybe it is me but the label just doesn’t pop and is a little flat. Grade C+ for packaging
Slogan: I saw this on the back of the bottle “Get up and Go” That is a great slogan and one I think they should put more up front. I think this slogan really captures the spirit of this drink. Grade A-
Taste: I twist open the top and I get a nice tangerine scent. No vitamin or chemical smell in here. Taking a drink I get a really light tangerine flavor that is not real sweet. You can taste the water in this drink and it is really refreshing and thirst quenching. This stuff is really great on a hot day when you need some refreshment. It also goes well in a water bottle for a long bike ride or run. There is no carbonation and no aftertaste. Really I think they nailed the whole energy water flavor wise very well. This stuff actually taste like tangerine not orange. Great job guys. Grade B
Kick/Ingredients: I had several bottles and each time I tried this drink it delivered pretty well. It gave me a nice smooth boost of energy that allowed me to continue on when I was tired. It got me going in the morning after a long night on the town when I needed hydration and caffeine. Each time the energy level was high with out being jittery so I could focus and get things done. The buzz lasted 3 to 4 hours with no crash. I’d put the buzz just a tad under the typical 16 oz energy drink or average energy shot. Of you get some vitamins as well hydration without a lot of sugar so that raises the score some. Each bottle of Vital is powered by 150 mg caffeine, 100 mg Taurine, a good dose of B vitamins, 200% of your vitamin C, and even a little calcium to boot. There are 120 calories and 26 grams of sugars and carbs. It is sweetened with Crystalline Fructose and cane sugar. I’ll give it a grade of B- for kick and ingredients
Web Presence: They have a nice little site at thevitalenergy.com. The site design has a social network feel to it and provides plenty of product and company info on it. They have a store locator as well as a way to buy the drink online. My favorite part has to be the blog though. If you would like to see into the life of a small beverage company you will find this very interesting. I plan on checking back often myself to read about their adventures. Check the blog out for sure. Grade B for web presence. Nothing fancy but they provide the info you want as well as some entertainment. They also have a Facebook.
Recap:
As far as energy water type drinks go this is one of the best. It has more kick than Vitamin Water and is better for you than most energy drinks. I really enjoy the light tangerine flavor. I am rooting for these guys and I hope you will give them a try. They are making a good quality thirst quenching drink. If you get a chance try some and let me know what you think.
