Vuka Think

Ok so this is the second drink Vuka sent me to try. I thought about reviewing all these together since I do that sometimes. The thing is that Vuka not only offers different flavors but the ingredients and purpose of each is different. For that reason I will be reviewing each separately.

Packaging: Like the other Vuka drinks the Vuka Think comes in an awesome 16 oz aluminum bottle. This one is a brushed aluminum purple bottle. You have the nice  Vuka sun logo and minimal text. There is not much text but what there is gives it a real upscale adult feel to it. It is beautiful and slick. Grade A

Slogan: “Intelligent Energy” is front and center on the bottle and it is great. I think the slogan fits the intended market as well as the styling of the package. A-

Taste: Ok so Lychee is probably something most have not tried. I have actually had a Lychee fruit before years ago so I am curious how it works in an energy drink. Twisting off the lid I get a nice pomegranate scent. Pouring some in a cup it comes out a reddish purple color with a very very light carbonation level. Taking a sip I get a mild pomegranate flavor first followed by some pear and grape at the finish. The Pomegranate taste is the most dominant and that is the flavor that lingers. It is just mildly sweet and kind of earthy and natural tasting. It’s not like you are drinking a sugary soda at all. There is no bitterness or aftertaste to be found. Lychee is where the pear and grape comes from I think. Grade B- for taste. It’s good and natural

Kick/Ingredients: Of course I drank the entire bottle at once and it was easy with the low carbonation. In the usual 15 or so minutes I started feeling more refreshed and alert. I was having trouble staying alert and focusing before I drank this and that went away. My focus and alertness where much improved and I was able to get some work done.  I had been feeling like this was going to be one of those long fruitless days and then Vuka Think fixed that for me. I was alert and focused for a good 3 to 4 hours with no crash really. Vuka delivers this focus and energy with 160 mg natural caffeine, Ginko Biloba, , Ginseng, grape seed extract, DMAE, and 100% levels of your B vitamins. It does this with 180 calories, 48 grams of carbs, and 46 grams of sugars. It is sweetened with natural sugar. Grade C+ for kick/ingredients.  It is great for focus and mood but the boost is just average.

Web Presence: vuka.com is a pretty fun and cute site. It has a lot of cool product info as well as their story, a store, Faq, Events, a blog, Newspaper, and a cool Vuka Vibe section with wall papers, screensavers, and playlist. Really a fun site to poke around on. They also have Twitter and Facebook. Grade A- for web presence

Recap:

This is my second Vuka and I think it did a good job in the area of focus and mood. If you need smooth energy and good focus/concentration this is a great choice for that. It is not a big boost but is at least comparable to your typical energy drink. At work or school this is really a drink that could work for you and I suggest you check it out. Of course it has a great package and good taste as well. I’m looking forward to trying the other flavors as well.
