Wild Stallion Electric Green

Ok so for my second review of a Wild Stallion energy drink I chose the Electric Green version. From what I have learned this is supposed to be a clone of Monster energy drink. I can understand that idea since so many people like Monster. Will they be able to pull it off though?

Packaging: This time the Wild Stallion drink comes in a nicer package than the mango flavor did. Electric Green is in a 16 oz can that has a printed on label instead of the shrink wrap and is a much better looking package due to this. The can is mostly silver with a black stripe around the top and bottom. There is also a faint green stripe next to the black stripe and it really is a nice touch. In the top black stripe the flavor “Electric Green” is printed several times in silver font. In the middle of the can is the Wild Stallion Logo. This time the stallion in the logo is green. I like how their different drinks each have a different color stallion to go along with them. I like the logo with its stallion and shield image along with a really nice starburst behind it. Towards the bottom it list key energy ingredients, and on the back are nutrition facts. Nice job and this can looks a lot more professional than the mango can. Grade B- for packaging. This package works well for an energy drink.

Slogan: Still nothing on the can but on the web they have this one “It’s time for you to join the stampede” which is pretty cool I think and it is specific to the brand which is always good I think. Grade B for slogan. They should put the slogan on the can

Taste: So I pop the top and I get the familiar energy drink scent you might get from a Monster drink. Pouring some in a cup I am disappointed that it comes out a caramel brown color. It should be green! I mean how can you call a drink electric green and then skip out on the green food coloring. I take a sip and it is pretty close I think to a Monster energy drink. It has that citrus, honey, bubble gum taste with a creamy finish and a hard biting sweetness that lingers. I think Monster drinkers will be happy with this flavor. It has no bitterness or medicine taste at all. It is very sweet to me though. Grade C+ for taste

Kick/Ingredients: Ok so I stayed up past midnight watching a basket ball game. Not a big deal except I had to get up at 4am to go to work a 12 hr shift. I held out till around lunch time then reached for this wild stallion. I was hoping it would help me stampede over the afternoon slump. I drank the whole can and it hit me pretty hard. I got a really nice rush of energy that was slightly jittery. It was on par with your typical 16 oz energy drink and the ride lasted me a good 4 hours. There was a hefty crash at the end though that left me feeling like I had been rode hard and put up wet . Wild Stallion Electric green appears to have the same energy line up as their whole line up has with Caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, Glucose, and a fair dose of B vitamins. You get 240 calories and 30 grams of carbs and sugars. Amounts are not listed but I guess it was what you get from your average 16 oz energy drink. It is sweetened with sugar and glucose.  Grade C for kick/ingredients

Web Presence: They have a website at trotfaster.com but there is still very little there except some pictures of the products and some contact info. If you want to find out anything else you have to visit the parent company at imbibeinc.com where at least you can find some ingredients info. Grade D for web presence

Recap:

While I think they did a fair job of cloning a Monster energy drink flavor it is not really a favorite flavor of mine. If you love Monster (and I know many of you do) then I think you will enjoy this drink. If it is at a bargain price then it will save you some money even. I really liked the can design and the kick was on par with most. I think if you can find this drink then maybe you should give it a try. Sure you the crash might be a bit rough but it is really no different than a monster.
