Plenty of sunshine heading my way

Zipfizz Grape energy drink

I enjoyed the last Zipfizz powder mix I tried so I was eager to give the new grape flavor a try. I like grape and I like Zipfizz drinks so I figure it would be hard to go wrong with reviewing this one.

Packaging:  This Zipfizz comes in the same unique flip top plastic tube as the other Zipfizz powders. I am always impressed with this package. It really is cool looking and gives the drink a look of quality. The tube is purple plastic and has a purple label on it. At the top the label reads “Healthy Energy” in a green section of the label and “Grape” right below that. This is followed by the Name “Zipfizz” in a nice white modern font along with the Zipfizz logo graphic. I still have no idea what that graphic is supposed to be. Along one side it has directions on how much water to use when mixing. Back has supplement facts. Grade B+ for packaging. Love the flip top tube in general and like the fact that the plastic itself is purple to match the flavor.

Slogan:   All we have is “Healthy Energy” With this drink being sold in a lot of pharmacies I think this works pretty well. Grade B for slogan.  Not a lot of fun but functional.

Taste: I pop the top and it has a delicious grape candy smell. It’s like grape Kool-Aid or pixie sticks. I pour some in a 16 oz bottle of water and it fizzes up a nice translucent purple color. The foam at the top might put you off a bit but a few shakes of the bottle and it goes away. I take a sip and it has a nice grape candy flavor but fairly weak. It’s more like grape flavored water.  It is not real sweet and really that is a good thing if you’re going to work out or something you don’t want to have too much sweetness in your drink. There is no aftertaste or vitamin taste at all. I found it to be pretty good and give it a grade of B-

Kick/Ingredients:  Since it was not overly sweet it went down smooth and fast. I was feeling a little lethargic but I need to get some task completed. Once I finished the drink I got a pretty good buzz going. It was a smooth boost that allowed me to concentrate and get the paper work done and then move on to some more demanding physical task as well. The buzz made it an easy 4 hours and there was no crash Key energy ingredients are 100 mg of caffeine(from Guarana), Taurine, Grape seed extract, Green tea leaf extract, Ginseng, and a massive dose of B vitamins including 41667% dv of B12! Other healthy ingredients are Ginger, Alpha Lipoic acid,  833% dv of Vitamins C, 33% dv of vitamin E, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, selenium, manganese, and Chromium. You only have 10 calories and no sugar. I will give them a grade of B for kick/ingredients. All of this makes for a smooth healthy buzz.

Web Presence: zipfizz.com is pretty nice. It has a bright and cheery feel and look to it. It has plenty of product and ingredient info. It also has news, testimonials, events, company info, and a nice store with drinks and shirts. It is very well laid out and easy to navigate. They have a nice up-to-date Myspace page as well. I will give them a grade of B for web presence.

Recap:

I like this Zipfizz energy drink mix. While the Grape was not the best flavor they offer it was not bad. They pack a lot of good vitamins and minerals as well as energy ingredients into these little tubes. They are also easy to find since they are available at a lot of pharmacies like CVS and such. Toss a few into your gym bag, purse, man bag, or backpack and you are good to go. This is one energy drink you won’t feel bad about health wise.
