Feeling Zippy?
Zipfizz “Liquid Shot” Orange lemon lime, Mango Lemon Lime, Passion Lemon Lime.
This week I tried 3 different energy shots from Zipfizz. I decided to do all 3 in one review. I was in several different situations so this gave me a good overall understanding of these drinks/shots and how the performed. All the flavors feature lemon lime as the base but each taste drastically different.
Packaging: Zipfizz liquid shots are in a small plastic 4oz bottle with a shrink wrapped label on them. The label is Silver with the words Zipfizz in blue vertical on the label. In the background are some line patterns that remind me of a computer screen saver. There is also a little blue orbiting planet or atom by the words. It also exclaims No sugar, Loaded with B12, High energy boost off to the side. There is an expiration date on the bottom of the bottle as well which is nice. I know this is supposed to be a shot but it is a large shot. Most other shots I have tried were 2 oz’s. It’s a nice attractive package with a screw on lid. I like the package overall and will give it a solid B
Slogans: No real slogan to speak of on the bottle or the website. I give them a D- for not really having a catch phrase or logo
Taste ect: When you open the bottle the first ting that hits you is a strong vitamin smell. Not really unexpected since it is a small drink packed with “25 different nutritional ingredients”. Each flavor is different but has a similar finish. The Mango is sweet and good and not overpowering, the Passion is very strong and there is no mistaking the flavor, and the orange is the least flavorful. Each drink starts with its main flavor and finishes with the lemon lime flavor. There is no carbonation. I think the passion is my favorite and the least lemon lime flavored of them all. Really I had no after taste to speak of. As far as shots go these are some of the best tasting and I think that is partly because of their size being 4 oz. I give these a B for flavor.
Kick/Ingredients: Like I said earlier I tried these in various situations. Some were physically demanding and some were mentally demanding. I think this gives me a pretty good idea on the kick. These shots contain 120 mg of Caffeine as well as taurine, green tea extract, Grape skin extract, ginseng root extract, a crap load of B12(41667% of the RDA!), as well as loads of other vitamins. Only 30 calories and 8g of carbs. Not super potent in the caffeine dept but they are going for a healthier kick I think. I was not amped up or anything but I will tell you I felt very very focused each time I tried these drinks. I will give them a C in kick. Would be a C- but they provide a different kind of kick that could be useful some times.
Web presence: They have a nice site at zipfizz.com. You can tell it is a professional job.
All that you need to know about zipfizz is there. They have product information, Events and sponsors(looks like the sponsor a speed boat as well as a car in NASCAR). A faq for their products, contact information, and Company information. The site is colorful and easy to navigate. Searching on the web will also find you loads of hits for Zipfizz including news stories and youtube videos(not all positive videos either). I will give them a solid B for web presence.
Recap:
While not a super potent ED I have to say I could see myself using Zipfizz in certain situations.
