Z is for Zizzazz

Zizzazz Pom mango

There are a lot of powdered energy mixes out there. Some are good and some not so much. I have heard a lot of things about Zizzazz and I got some a while back. Somehow it got lost in the shuffle but I was happy the other day when I found my pack of Zizzazz.  Only problem now was which flavor to try first. I really like mango so I decided to go with the Pom Mango.

Packaging:  Zizzazz comes in a nice little .25 oz foil pouch. The pouch is black but it has some mango orange at each end so you can tell the different flavors they have apart from each other at a glance. At one end is the Flavor “Pom Mango” in a white font and in the middle is an image of some fireworks exploding against the black background. The Zizzazz name/logo fills up most of the middle in a black/yellow/orange font. Back has nutrition facts. Not a lot of room for much. It would be nice if they had some directions besides “Eat or Mix with liquid” I was not sure how much liquid but I figure your average water bottle is about right. Grade C for packaging. Very portable and would fit in purse, pocket, or backpack easily. I think they have changed the packaging since I got these a while back.

Slogan:  Nothing on the package but on the website I found “Shake it up” which is not too bad. It fits well with the product. Grade C

Taste: I mixed mine in a bottle of water and it came out to be a medium pomegranate color. It had a nice Kool-Aid scent. The powder dissolved better than pretty much any of the powdered mixes I have tried. It completely disappeared with no speck left over. I took a sip and it was a medium sweet Pomegranate flavor with just a hint of mango at the finish. There was really no aftertaste and I found it to be pretty good. I was a bit disappointed that there was not more mango but in the long run the mango just kind of takes the edge off of the Pomagranate and it works well. Grade C+ for taste

Kick/Ingredients:  Since there is no carbonation it was easy to drink down quickly. I was finished before I knew it. Over a period of 15 or so minutes my energy level increased but not to a jittery blast. It was more of a smooth boost that got me going without being distracting. I was able to focus and get some work done and then I was stuck looking for more work since I was still going strong. The buzz lasted a good 3 or 4 hours and there was no crash at all. ZizzZazz is powerd by 200 mg Caffeine,  maltodextrin, taurine, beta carotene, Vitamin C 100% dv, B Vitamins, Vitamin E, glucuronolactone, ginseng, green tea extract, rhodiola rosea extract. It comes in at  20 calories, 1 gram of sugars, 4 grams of carbs.  That is a pretty healthy and strong drink. Grade B- for kick/ingredients

Web Presence: Zizzazz.com is the website and it is a fairly good one. Not super fancy but you can find information on where to buy their products. There is a product section, events, news, contact us, and more. I did have a hard time locating ingredients information. I found the site to be difficult to navigate in general. It’s too bad since I think the site has potential and the news and events were up to date. I will cut them some slack and give them a grade of C- for web presence.

Recap:

There are a lot of good things about Zizzazz and I look forward to trying their other flavors. The drink mix is super portable, has an above average kick, and taste pretty good. I think they should work a bit on their website and their packaging though. I hear they have new packaging but I have not seen it. I think you should give this drink a try and let me know what you think. It is better than a lot of the drinks out there.
